Who Is Edward Price in Dixotomia?

Edward Price is a Lieutenant-Colonel and the deputy head of Tibet security in Dixotomia. He is ex-Fedarm and a convicted deserter whose implants were cut out as part of a sentence of life exile. With Reynor he is warm and fatherly, and with anyone who crosses him he is extremely harsh.

The story of his fall comes from his dossier, and it reads like a chain of bad luck followed by a worse signature:

1. He was sent to crush the Moncada uprising with the Ghost Legion.
2. He lost three quarters of his men.
3. He surrendered.
4. The rebels hired him as a military consultant.
5. They then forged his signature on messages to the Federation.
6. The tribunal barely cared that he had built rebel defences, but the forged signature nearly got him executed.
7. His sentence became life exile.

The Ghost Legion was destroyed on Moncada, and that is how Price fell.

What are Fedarm, the Ghost Legion and Moncada?

Fedarm is the Federation's military. Its branches include the Assault Infantry Corps, the Guards Corps, the Perimeter (which the lore calls safe and boring), the Black Legion (the elite) and the Ghost Legion. It also runs a Special Academy in Adelaide.

Moncada is one of the Federation's red worlds, which the lore describes as poor and restive. When it rose up, the Ghost Legion was the force sent to crush the uprising. Price led it there, and the campaign ended his Fedarm career.

What happened to Price's implants?

His sentence was carried out on his body. The emergency medical complex was cut out of his left shoulder, his ID tooth was pulled and his equipment sockets were destroyed. In the lore's world, implants are careers, punishments and status symbols, so removing them is a punishment he carries with him.

What does Price's security service look like?

Tibet security is a private army in black and orange. The suit its troopers wear is wired into a single network, so you are visible on every monitor and tracking system. It has auto-fitting servos, a force-field generator that also powers the helmet's aiming system, a visor and noise-compensating headphones.

The local rifle is the M-79, which the lore remembers mostly for its awkward sights. A similar but far more comfortable rifle, the Sehmet-A-64, also exists. That small detail is typical of the setting: even the hardware has a bureaucratic flavour.

What was Price like before Karna?

The lore notes that Attecor, the Federation's attestation apparatus, offered Price a life he found suicidally boring. His dossier then runs through Fedarm, the Ghost Legion and Moncada.
